Community Based Activites
Staying active and looking after your health is important to maintain wellbeing and independence. Community based activities provide an opportunity to connect to your community, meet others and be active at the same time. GPPCP has developed a brochure of community based activities for both Stawell and Ararat.

Walking Resources

Walking is low impact, requires minimal equiptment, can be done at any time of day and can be performed at your own pace. Nearly everyone can walk, whether it is for health, fitness, recreation, relaxation or transport. Walking is fun, free and social, so if you are trying to improve your health and fitness then walking is a good activity to consider.

You are more likely to walk when you have planned where and when you are able to walk. Walking around the block or a park close to home is a good start. These booklets outline short walks and routes of interest in your local area. There are walking groups throughout the Northern Grampians, Ararat Rural City and Pyrenees Shire suitable to various fitness levels and interests, such as ramblers, power walkers, older adults, people with prams or in wheelchairs and scooters.

GPPCP has developed a number of information brochures for those looking for a waling group in their area. Click below to see the available walking brochure.
